Workshops tailored to your needs

Sensitivity to disabilities
- These are actions nominated for the WSIS Prizes 2024 award.
Everyone of us is different, we have our own opinions and individual preferences. Some of us like tomato soup with rice, others with pasta, and yet others prefer cucumber soup. Some of us walk around in a pair of sneakers with coloured laces, while others prefer Velcro shoes. Sometimes it's not just a matter of taste, but also a matter of need: for various reasons, some people find it difficult to tie their laces by themselves and need other ways to fasten their shoes.
Openness to diverse needs, especially those of people with disabilities, is something worth developing from an early age.
The Accessibility Unit invites you to activities for pre-school and early school children on sensitivity to disabilities.
During the workshops we will try to break down barriers, dispel stereotypes and familiarise ourselves with disability.
Participants will learn, among other things:
- Who is a person with a disability and what needs they may have
- How to behave towards a person with disabilities, how to address them so as not to offend them
- How Deaf people communicate - phrases of politeness and basic words in Polish Sign Language
At each meeting, we host a person with a disability to whom participants may ask questions.
Workshops are free of charge. Would you like to invite us to your place? Write an e-mail with a date proposal to: or call: +48 532 567 305 +48 22 534 93 92
Workshops in PJM
The Internet makes our lives easier in many cases. We can run an errand at the local authority, do our shopping, quickly find the information we need, pay our bills. Thanks to the Internet, we can make friends or keep in touch with them through various communicators. Unfortunately, the digital world is not free of dangers - someone may break into our bank account or e-mail account, or we may receive a brick in a box instead of the goods we ordered.
The Accessibility Unit invites you to workshops carried out in Polish Sign Language (PJM). These whorkshops are adjusted to the needs and interests of the participants. The classes are conducted by native PJM users who are also UKE employees.
Topics of choice:
- How to secure your online account
- I know what I'm signing
- Online banking
- Shopping online
- Trusted profile and ePUAP
- Roaming
- SMS premium rate

Accessibly about online safety
- These are actions nominated for the WSIS Prizes 2024 award.
The virtual world is addictive. Also to the young people, who are not always aware of the dangers. How to use the Internet safely, how not to fall prey to scammers, how to take care of digital hygiene? This is what you will learn during a workshop run by the Accessibility Unit.
The workshops are dedicated to people on the autism spectrum and people with intellectual disabilities. The teaching method and materials are adapted to the cognitive abilities of the participants. We try to follow the individual needs of each person, so the workshop group should not be large.
The workshops are scheduled in a cycle and include four topics::
- Netiquette - rules of behaviour, mutual respect and basics of safety
- How not to be fooled – about online dangers
- How not to get sucked in – about addiction to being online all the time
- How to be your safe self online - repetition and consolidation of knowledge.
