Children's Day with UKE in the Olsztyn Science and Technology Park (OPNT)
On May 30-31, we had the pleasure of co-organizing the celebration of Children’s Day at OPNT. Celebrating with us were VISUS VR, Kortosfera – Center for the Popularisation of Science and Innovation, Carum, LEGO Education, CGI Poland, My Bambino and CamFLY. Our experts gave classes covering the basics of coding for children from primary schools in Olsztyn. The students had a chance to see that learning does not have to be boring!
Automatic traffic control systems, self-closing crossings, lights that react to dusk. The youngest learned to create a program that brought the model of the Smart City to life and, with the help of UKE educators, programmed a smart city of the 21st century! This was not the only attraction and lesson we prepared for the Children’s Day at OPNT! Another attraction was learning to code on the ScottieGO board. Participants of the workshop found out in practice how important programming was in everyday life, helping the hero of the simulation in an intergalactic adventure with coding!
Our partners prepared first aid classes using VR goggles, chemical experiments, lessons on navigating the Internet safely for the youngest with the Spoofy game, and drone flights!
