“Cyber Violence and Cyber Threats – NETW@Y TO ADULTHOOD”

Commander of the Municipal Police Station in Szczecin, Mr Piotr Makuch, invited employees from the Office of Electronic Communications Regional Branch in Szczecin, Mr Wojciech Rymer, Mr Jacek Jarocki and Mr Michał Kowalczyk, to participate in a public debate on cyber threats and their impact on children and adolescents. The event, titled “CYBER VIOLENCE AND CYBER THREATS – NETW@Y TO ADULTHOOD”, was held on 14 November 2024.
During the debate, Mr Wojciech Rymer delivered a presentation on cyberbullying, highlighting various forms of online violence.
The event was attended by school principals and educators from primary and secondary schools, the Friends of Children Association, representatives of the Szczecin City Hall, judges and probation officers from district courts in Szczecin, representatives of the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime, the Police, the Municipal Police and the Research and Academic Computer Network (NASK). The presentations were followed by a debate on cyber threats and strategies to protect children and adolescents as they transition into adulthood.
Approximately 150 individuals attended the meeting.
The event took place at the Nanotechnology Didactic and Research Centre of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, located at al. Piastów 45 in Szczecin.
