"Klikam z głową" and "J@Online" initiatives in Tomaszów Mazowiecki
21 april 2023
On April 18 and 19, lectures for young people from primary and secondary schools were held at the Municipal Cultural Center in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The event was organised by Agnieszka Drzewoska-Kovač, the Consumer Ombudsman, and the City of Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
Our experts – Paulina Nowak, Joanna Czaczkowska and Milena Górecka – talked to young people about using the Internet safely and responsibly.
The Internet gives young users practically unlimited access to information, knowledge and entertainment. Unfortunately, too much time spent online very often results in overstimulation, as well as health problems. Every day, young people are exposed to cyberbullying and inappropriate content.
That is why it is so important to prevent, and make young people aware of online threats, and to teach the basic safety rules.
Senior master sergeant Monika Czarnecka of the Poviat Police Department in Tomaszów Mazowiecki also gave a lecture, about the legal consequences of irresponsible online behaviour.
Nearly 1,000 students took part in this two-day event! We made young people aware of the importance of protecting their data, image, engaging in responsible online behaviour, and respecting other people. Nothing is lost on the Internet. Every day, young people encounter online hate and fake news, and are more and more often exposed to fraud, e.g., when shopping online.
Not everyone can cope with those threats and knows how to react in a crisis situation. We reminded young people they can seek help and advice by calling 116 111. This is a helpline for children and teenagers!
