Ministry of Finance Programme: “Lessons on Finance”

Ministry of Finance Programme: “Lessons on Finance”

We engage in our own educational activities while also participating in initiatives organised by other institutions. This year, we once again partner with the Ministry of Finance’s programme, “Lessons on Finance.”

“The 2024 ‘Lessons on Finance’ Programme aims to support measures dedicated to financial education by providing students with introductory general lessons on finance. Knowledge of finance increases financial literacy, which is now one of the basic life skills.

Primary schools do not have a dedicated course on financial matters. Instead, these topics are integrated into the general curriculum across various subjects. Therefore, it is crucial to teach students from a young age that managing their finances is a key aspect of daily life. One of the key objectives of the programme is also to popularise awareness of public financial institutions among students.” (“‘Lessons on Finance’ programme – 2024 edition,” MF).

This year, we are organising in-person classes for children, focusing on the following topics:

  • the importance of creating and using secure passwords, particularly for online banking,
  • principles of secure login, especially for online payments,
  • how to recognise phishing attempts to minimise the risk of losing funds.

So far, we have held the following meetings:

- On 7 October, we welcomed pupils from Jan Brzechwa Primary School in Grabienice.

- On 18 October, we hosted students from Władysław Jagiełło Local Government School Complex in Dzietrzniki.

- On 13 November, we met with students from Powstańców 1863 Primary School in Lututów.
