"Sensitivity to Disability" at Primary School No. 47 in Wrocław

On April 9-10, 2024, at primary school No. 54 in Wrocław, workshops on "Sensitivity towards people with disabilities" were held. The workshops were conducted by experts from the Department of Consumer Policy: Katarzyna Mądrzycka-Adamczyk and Konrad Kozłowski. Over 200 students participated in the workshops.

During the meeting, participants had the opportunity not only to learn about the challenges that people with disabilities face every day, but also to learn about the assistive devices and applications that are available to them. The workshops helped to understand the difficulties that people with disabilities may encounter, but also showed how technology can help them in their everyday functioning. Moreover, students had the opportunity to learn the basics of Polish sign language.

Initiatives such as these workshops are of great importance at the primary school level, because this is when attitudes and values that accompany us throughout our lives are shaped. Workshops not only serve to educate young people, but also support building a society that is more open, sensitive and ready to help others.

We would like to thank all the participants for their commitment and we hope that the knowledge and experience gained will contribute to creating a more friendly and supportive environment for people with disabilities.
