World Consumer Day in Szczecin

World Consumer Day in Szczecin

World Consumer Day on 15.03.2024 was a great opportunity for consumer support institutions to exchange experiences in order to improve the assistance they provide. We would like to educate, support and help as best we can.

This year's celebration of Consumer Day coincided with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Consumer Ombudsman. In Szczecin, since 15 October 1999, this function has been continously held by Ms Longina Kaczmarek, at whose invitation representatives of UKE's Regional Branch in Szczecin: Director Wojciech Rymer, Head of the Consumer Affairs Unit Jacek Jarocki and employees of this department: Andrzej Żukowski and Anna Gottfried-Stankiewicz, were able to boast of their achievements in helping Consumers.

Director Wojciech Rymer's speech highlighted the full spectrum of issues that consumers face when using postal and telecommunications services. It also emphasised what an important weapon is the proper education in the fight against unfair traders and their commercial practices.

Among the guests celebrating the quarter-century of the office, headed by Longina Kaczmarek, were representatives of the UOKiK Delegation in Gdańsk and Poznań, consumer ombudsmen from various cities and districts of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship, the Municipal Police Chief in Szczecin, and representatives of institutions which cooperate with the Municipal Consumer Ombudsman on a daily basis: The Inspectorate of Commercial Inspection in Szczecin, the Energy Regulatory Office, the Consumer Federation, the Faculty of Law at the University of Szczecin.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be included in such an esteemed group of speakers. We promise to continuously and passionately grow in providing assistance to Consumers.
