Join our free programming workshops for children: Code with UKE
“Code with UKE” is a series of free programming workshops organized by the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), aimed at primary school students in grades 1–6. The classes introduce children to the world of new technologies in an accessible, engaging way, tailored to their age.
During the workshops, participants learn the basics of coding through play, experimentation, and group cooperation. Programming develops logical and creative thinking, concentration, problem-solving skills, and action planning—competencies that are extremely important in today’s digital world. In line with our mission, we also teach children how to navigate technology so they can say: "I click sensibly".
Two types of workshops:
Scottie Go! (Grades 1-3) Classes using the innovative educational game Scottie Go!, which combines elements of the real and digital worlds. Children arrange programs using cardboard blocks and then scan them into the app to watch the game’s hero follow their commands. This provides a natural introduction to the basics of programming and logical thinking.
Photon (Grades 1-6) Workshops with the interactive educational robot Photon, which reacts to commands, moves, lights up, and makes sounds. Students learn to control the robot, create their own programs, and solve logical tasks while learning the basics of scripting languages and how algorithms work.
