Conference of the Personal Data Protection Office

On March 31, attendants at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw (Akademia Humanistyczno-Ekonomiczna), enjoyed a conference entitled "Challenges for the protection of personal data in the light of the jurisprudence of the courts". The meeting was organised by the Office for Personal Data Protection. The patrons of the event were the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, Krajowy Rejestr Długów, chronpesel.pl, and the Office of Electronic Communications. The conference was attended by, among others, Jacek Oko, President of the Office of Electronic Communications; Jakub Groszkowski, Deputy President of the Office for Personal Data Protection; Rector Konrad Janowski, PhD, professor at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw; and Adam Łącki, President of the Management Board of Krajowy Rejestr Długów Biuro Informacji Gospodarczej S.A.

During the conference, the legal aspects of the GDPR, threats resulting from data breaches and the personal data protection system in the work of regulators for the benefit of the citizen were discussed. Milena Górecka of the Department of Consumer Policy gave a presentation on the challenges and threats of Internet users in the context of data protection. Director Dorota Grudzień-Barbachowska took part in the debate, during which she mentioned, among others, how important education in the field of safety was.

It is important that everyone is aware of the need to protect personal data and is able to react in the event of a data breach or privacy violation. As Internet users, we have the biggest influence on what and where we publish.
