III Olympiad of Consumer Knowledge in Legnica

III Olympiad of Consumer Knowledge in Legnica

On April 24, secondary school students from Legnica and nearby towns met in the auditorium of the Centre for Vocational and Continuing Education in Legnica to take part in the third edition of the Consumer Knowledge Olympiad. This cyclical event, which attracts more and more young participants each year, aims to develop awareness of everyday consumer choices and to understand how market mechanisms work and which institutions protect the interests of citizens. During the Olympiad, it was emphasized that young people - despite their young age - are also an active group of consumers. They shop online, use digital services and conclude contracts, often without realizing their rights. That is why it is so important that they acquire knowledge at the school level that will help them make informed decisions and avoid unfair market practices. One of the program items was a meeting with representatives of the Office of Electronic Communications, during which we introduced the participants to the most important changes resulting from the new Electronic Communications Law. Young people could learn how the new regulations affect the rights of users of telecommunications services and why it is worth knowing your rights when dealing with operators.

See you in a year :)
