"Manipulation in Social Media" Webinar

"Manipulation in Social Media" Webinar

Almost 22,000 participants took part in our webinar yesterday! Youth from grades 4-6 of primary schools from all over Poland had the opportunity to explore one of the key problems of the modern internet - manipulation in social media.

In today's digital world, where information spreads rapidly and content is often created to provoke specific reactions, it is extremely important for young internet users to be able to think critically, analyse sources and not be manipulated. During the meeting, we discussed topics that will help them better navigate the online world and make informed decisions.

The main topics of our webinar:

Fake news – How to recognize it? Why they are created and who is interested in spreading them?

Clickbaits and manipulative headlines – How do they work and why do they attract our attention so effectively? How not to be caught by sensational but untrue information?

Deepfake – the art of illusion or a threat? – What are the threats of fake video and audio materials? How to distinguish a real recording from a manipulated one?

Influencers and manipulation in social media – Can we always trust them? How do brands and platforms use their popularity to influence our purchasing decisions and worldview? How to recognize hidden advertising and not be emotionally manipulated by the images they create?

We would like to thank all participants for their presence and active participation! We hope that the gained knowledge will allow you to navigate the digital world even better, consciously evaluate information and make thoughtful decisions on the web. See you at the next webinars!
