Meetings with youth and seniors in Teresin
12 march 2025
To celebrate World Consumer Rights Day, we had the opportunity to participate in two extremely important educational meetings that took place in Teresin. The first one was addressed to students of grades VI-VIII of the St. Maksymilian Kolbe elementary school and raised the issue of hate. The second meeting was organized on the initiative of the Paprotnia Village council of Teresin commune and was organized in Dworzec TO.Kultura. where seniors learned how important cybersecurity is.
Meeting with students – Hate online and its consequences
During the first meeting, we conducted workshops on online hate. During the classes, we talked to the youth about what hate is, what its consequences can be, and how to effectively counteract hate speech on the Internet. Students had the opportunity to share their experiences, and together we analysed real cases of hate and their impact on the lives of victims. Together, we discussed ways to respond to verbal violence online, and we also emphasized the importance of empathy and responsible use of social media. The meeting ended with a constructive discussion in which students actively participated, sharing their thoughts and questions.
Meeting with seniors
The second meeting under " Cybersafe Senior " title aimed to raise awareness of seniors in the field of cybersecurity. During the event, we discussed key matters related to the protection of personal data, recognizing online fraud and safe use of electronic banking. Seniors had the opportunity to learn the basic rules on creating strong passwords, recognizing fraud attempts and protecting their devices from threats. The workshops also included practical advice on how to avoid fake emails and telephone fraud attempts. Participants were eager to share their concerns and experiences, which allowed for a fruitful exchange of knowledge and practical tips.
Both meetings enjoyed great interest and involvement of participants. We hope that the knowledge gained will help both young people and seniors navigate the digital world more safely and consciously. We would like to thank all participants for their activity and the organizers for the opportunity to conduct these extremely important workshops.
