Official opening of CodeWeek 2022

Official opening of CodeWeek 2022

We officially inaugurated CodeWeek 2022 on 8 October in the Targowa Centre of Creativity in Warsaw. The event, organised by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and NASK was opened by Minister Janusz Cieszyński.

The EU Code Week is an initiative to promote among children and adults programming and learning how to code in a play setting. This year, CodeWeek celebrates its 10th anniversary.

As partners of the event, we had the pleasure to conduct a workshop together with Scottie Go Polska. Participants could also take part in fun activities organised by Klub Młodego Programisty (Young Programmer Club), Cyfrowy Dialog (Digital Dialogue) and Edu Sens.

The speaker, Karol Gnat, discussed various methods of coding and the future of young programmers . He stressed the importance of improving digital competences and learning new skills.

Event participants learned about the basics of programming while using various tools. Young programmers could, for example, program robots, play Minecraft or enjoy an adventure with Scottie. The activities were attended by both children and their parents, because it is never too late to learn. Grown-ups visiting the UKE stand could additionally talk about the network security rules and grab a copy of the Teacher and Parent Guide.
