Seniors Online – Cybersecurity Training

Safety in the digital world is fundamental—especially for older adults, who are increasingly using the internet, online banking, and smartphones. That’s why on October 7th, the Praga-Południe District of Warsaw launched a series of training sessions called “Seniors Online – Cybersecurity Training”, organized by the MANKO association.
On the first day, Milena Górecka, Head of the Educational and Information Campaigns Department, discussed phone phishing—one of the most common types of fraud, where criminals impersonate trusted institutions to steal personal data or money. Participants learned how to recognize manipulation attempts, what to watch for during phone calls, and where to report suspicious situations.
Initiatives like this highlight the importance of raising digital awareness among seniors. In an era of ubiquitous internet access, knowledge and vigilance are the best protection against cyber threats. Ensuring online safety is no longer just a technical matter—it is a daily act of care for oneself and loved ones.
