Workshop “Sensitivity to Disability” in Legionowo
04 march 2026
On 18 and 25 February 2026, workshops dedicated to building sensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities were held at Primary and Preschool Complex No. 2 in Legionowo. The meetings were full of conversations and questions.
Preschool children and students had the opportunity to learn about the challenges faced daily by people with physical, visual, and hearing disabilities. The children also learned about technological solutions that make everyday life easier - what features phones and computers should have to be accessible to everyone. They discovered, among other things, how blind people read SMS messages and how Deaf people use mobile phones.
They also learned basic signs in sign language. In addition to greetings and farewells, they practiced the three “magic words”: thank you, please, and sorry. There were also activities with colors and learning the names of animals in Polish Sign Language (PJM).
The instructors emphasized the importance of respect and proper communication in an accessible and engaging way. The workshops became not only a valuable lesson but also an inspiration to build openness, sensitivity, and mutual support in everyday life.
