Code with UKE

Can code learning be great fun? Absolutely! Students from grades 1 and 2 of Mikołaja Kopernika Primary School No. 1 in Mińsk Mazowiecki found out for themselves during coding workshops using the Photon robot.

During the classes, children had the opportunity to try controlling the robot and creating their first simple programs. They designed routes for Photon, gave it commands, and checked whether the robot completed tasks exactly as planned. Not everything worked right away — but that’s exactly what learning to code is about. Each correction and every new attempt brought them closer to solving the task.

The workshops showed that coding is, above all, learning through play. Children developed logical thinking, practiced patience, and learned how to cooperate. They worked together to find solutions, helped one another, and celebrated every successfully completed task.

The greatest reward was the students’ joy when Photon followed the planned route. One thing is certain — for the young participants, it was not only an engaging lesson but also an inspiring first step into the world of programming
