A significant aspect in the area of consumer protection is cooperation and exchange of information between consumer ombudsmen who directly assist consumers, the telecommunications market regulator and market representatives. It is incredibly important in raising consumer awareness and in the potential consumer claims processes.
On November 9, Kraków hosted the 31st session of the Consumer Protection Advisory Board. At the invitation of Mr Józef Gawron, Vice-Marshal of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, representative of the Consumer Policy Department, Chief Officer Agnieszka Michalska, took part in a discussion concerning the use of new technologies in the process of concluding telecommunications service agreements. She highlighted the importance of information provided to consumers before an agreement is concluded, the accommodation of the agreement to the client’s needs, and underlined that consumers themselves play a key role, as they should make an informed decision to conclude the agreement with a consumer-friendly environment extended on the part of the vendor.
