"Manipulations in social media” Webinar

"Manipulations in social media” Webinar

Today we held our last webinar for 7th and 8th grade students on "social media manipulations". During the meeting, we discussed key issues related to the dangers of using social media.

Students learned how to recognize fake news and disinformation, as well as the techniques used to spread it. We highlighted how easy it is to be fooled by clicking on headlines that are designed to grab attention but can actually be misleading. Participants also learned about the impact of algorithms that shape what we see on our networks, and how to recognize and protect themselves from the dangers of deepfakes. We also started a topic on how to use social media consciously and critically to avoid manipulation and make informed decisions.

We ended our meeting with practical tips that will help students better navigate the world of digital threats. We hope that the information we have gained will allow young Internet users to navigate the digital world consciously. We would like to thank all participants for their active participation!
