UKE Webinars – AI Traps

In April, we met for the third time with primary school students from across Poland during our educational webinars. During today’s online sessions with students from grades 1–3 and 7–8, we discussed how artificial intelligence is transforming the internet.
We explained to participants that:
- “Perfect” photos can be generated entirely by AI.
- Recordings and statements can be convincingly manipulated.
- Influencers we follow online may be nothing more than creations of algorithms.
Digital Traps Under the Spotlight
Particular attention was given to phenomena such as deepfakes, fake profiles and advertisements that are becoming increasingly effective at imitating reality. Students quickly realised how easy it can be to be misled, especially when content is carefully tailored to our interests and emotions.
During interactive discussions, we talked about why algorithms show us specific posts and how strongly they can influence our thinking, beliefs and purchasing decisions. For many students, it was a surprising discovery that the internet is far less neutral than it may seem.
Building Future Skills
For us, these webinars are much more than online lessons. They are part of a broader mission to build awareness and digital resilience. We want young people to be able to recognise manipulation, ask difficult questions and approach online content with a critical mindset.
We believe that the ability to distinguish truth from falsehood is now a vital form of protection in a world that can be remarkably convincing—even when it is entirely artificial.
